The WWE teased in the latest episode of Monday Night Raw the formation of the Bullet Club, as they showed A.J. Styles interacting with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows backstage. The team of Anderson and Gallows are portrayed as heels, and Styles may emerge as the group’s leader sometime down the line.
This week’s Raw was held in the United Kingdom where WWE World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns was attacked by Anderson and Gallows. It was right after a segment between Reigns and Styles, leading to speculations that the “Phenomenal One” was behind the assault.
Styles apologized to the WWE champion backstage and said that he did not instruct his former Bullet Club stablemates to attack him. However, Reigns does not believe it because Anderson and Gallows attacked his cousins, The Usos, the previous week.
According to What Culture, the seeds of a possible heel turn have been planted even if Styles has made it clear that he does not need any outside help in winning the WWE title at the “Payback” event. The former TNA star is the Bullet Club’s third leader and could end up as the group’s main guy in its incarnation in the WWE.
There are other scenarios that can happen besides Styles becoming the leader of the stable. One is having Finn Balor making his main roster debut as the heel leader and attack both Reigns and Styles.
Another is to have a four-member Bullet Club with Balor and Styles as the co-leaders while Anderson and Gallows as the henchmen. For those who don’t know, the reigning NXT champion is the original leader of the Bullet Club that was formed in Japan in 2013.
In a report by FanSided, there were speculations about Balor being called up very soon. He has also been teasing a Bullet Club reunion on social media.
WWE Payback 2016 is just a couple of weeks away and the main event will be Styles vs. Reigns for the WWE championship. There is a huge possibility of the Bullet Club getting involved that changes the landscape of the entire company.
Reigns still gets booed very loudly and a heel stable making his life a living hell could build sympathy towards him. You can watch the attack by Anderson and Gallows on Reigns in the video below.
