Keen internet sleuths may have come across the names for the latest legendary Pokémon. One Reddit user discovered that an IP lawyer in Japan filed trademarks for "Solgaleo" and "Lunaala."
While Game Freak, Nintendo, or the Pokémon Company did not file the names, there are speculations that the names could be associated with Pokémon because they contain "Sol" and "Luna," according to Comic Book. These names mean sun and moon respectively in Spanish and they have the general format like other Pokémon. It is believed that the names could be confirmation that the developer company is set to introduce a new region based on Spain, although there are many other languages with the same terms for sun and moon.
There is no confirmation from the Pokémon Company concerning the trademarks, but this would not be the first time the game developer filed trademarks using a private IP lawyer. Similar trademarks were filed for the names "Delphox" and "Meowstic" ahead of the release of "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y," in which case both names turned out to be new Pokémon in the games.
Meanwhile, the March issue of the Japanese magazine, CoroCoro, promised "Pokémon Sun and Moon" news. However, the April release of the magazine turned out to be a disappointment for many fans. There were details including the film that features Volcanion and Magearna, as well as the "Pokémon Sun and Moon" game that is slated for a release during this year's holiday season.
From the magazine, it is official that the first Gen 7 Pokémon, Magearna, which was unveiled back in February, will certainly be a Steel/Fairy form, Serebii reported. The Gen 7 Pokémon joins Klefki and Mawile as the only Pokémon with that kind of typing.
The Japanese magazine issue as well features its first "Pokémon Sun and Moon" coverage, which is simply a tease. The magazine revealed a still of the covers to the game, although with most of it obscured to keep the details under wrap.
The Pokémon Company may reveal the box art next month. For now, you can watch the sneak peek below for details on the much-awaited game.
