Capital city team Hertha Berlin SC (14-9-7, 49 points) has been on a downward spiral at the moment and they will try to get out of their rut as they clash with current league leaders and defending champions FC Bayern Munich (25-2-3, 78 points) at the Olympiastadion on April 23rd, Saturday.

Hertha is currently on a three-game winless skid, winning only twice in their last six matches, as they dropped to fourth place in the league table after being overtaken by Bayer Leverkusen for the third spot after the previous matchday.

Die Alte Dame still holds a Champions League qualifying berth in the process, but at fourth place it will no longer be an automatic qualification to the group stage as only the top three teams at the end of the season will qualify for that.

The team is now two points behind Bayer in the overall standings with four games left in the season and they could still reclaim their third position if they can string a winning streak.

Head coach Pál Dárdai's squad was tripped by lowly club Hoffenheim, 1-2, at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena last Saturday, as reported by Vavel.

Hertha midfielder Niklas Stark opened the scoring at the 26th minute, but it proved to be the lone goal for the visitors as Die Kraichgauer netted two goals afterward, from defender Fabian Schar and forward Mark Uth at the 33rd and 85th minutes, to succumb to their second loss in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich looks closer and closer to clinching their fourth straight Bundesliga title after a 3-0 beatdown of contending team Schalke at the Allianz Arena last Saturday, via BBC Sport.

After a goalless first half, resident striker Robert Lewandowski netted a double at the 54th and 65th minutes before Chilean midfielder and former Serie A champion Arturo Vidal scored an insurance goal at the 73rd to seal the win for the Bavarians.

It was the fifth straight victory for the reigning champions, who are set for another Germany top flight crown as they are seven points above second-placed squad Borussia Dortmund with only four games remaining in their current campaign.

The predicted result is a 3-0 romp for Bayern Munich.
