Masashi Kishimoto's latest one-shot manga "Naruto Gaiden 700.6: The Road Illuminated by the Full Moon" is now available on several scanlation sites days before its official release on the joint edition of the 21st and 22nd issue of Shuiesha's Weekly Shonen Jump, which is scheduled for release on April 25.

Ever since making his debut in Naruto Gaiden: the Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring and then Boruto: Naruto the Movie, Mitsuki has piqued everybody curiosity because of his mysterious aura. Moreover, his revelation that he's the son of Orochimaru in the closing scene of Boruto: Naruto the Movie has even made the character far more intriguing.
In Kishimoto's 45-page one-shot manga, he aimed to answer every question surrounding Mitsuki: his origin, nature, abilities and his purpose to Orochimaru. Will he just be a new vessel for Orochimaru or perhaps a puppet to the previous story's villain? What path Orochimaru is trekking now after the events in Naruto?
Spoilers Alert: here are the things I learned after reading the Naruto: One-Shot
-Suigetsu remains a loyal servant to Orochimaru, acting as an assistant to the Legendary Sannin in Laboratory works and sparring mates to Mitsuki if needed.
-Mitsuki leaned the Orochimaru is his parent, though he's confused which of a parent the Sannin is to him, a mother or father? Oro only replied that his question is 'inconsequential.'
-Orichimaru and Mitsuki teamed up in a S-rank mission, seeking to confront a masked shinobi who has the ability to steal memory. Orochimaru told Mitsuki that this shinobi, who comes by the name of Log, is the reason why he doesn't have any idea of his past.
-Orochimaru was successful in immobilizing Log by slipping in a small snake to inject his curse seal's poison. The Sannin left Mitsuki for a moment as he searches for something inside Log's lair. He nevertherles warned his son not to go near the masked man.
-Log asked Mitsuki to remove his mask as he's having trouble breathing because of the poison. He also told the young shinobi that it was Orochimaru who had been deceiving him all this time. The masked man was then revealed to be an older version of Mitsuki.
-Mitsuki found out from Log that they are synthetic humans Orochimaru artificially created to become his tsuki, a vessel for him. In fact, the name Mitsuki comes from the words Mi (the 6th Chinese zodiac serpent / snake) and Tsuki (vessel).
-Orochimaru returned with the embryo, where Log and Mitsuki comes from, but found out that his son looked torn with the revelation of the older Mitsuki. Out of extreme confusion, Mitsuki accidentally activated his sage mode to the delight of Orochimaru and older Mitsuki.
-It was then revealed that Orochimaru and the older Mitsuki connived to test Mitsuki and help unleash his real strength. In addition, the real purpose of their 'acting' was to give Mitsuki a will of his own.
-For Oro, Mitsuki will serve as the light in the darkness that would never fade as long as he finds his 'Sun' who will always be at his sun. That Sun Orochimaru is hoping for is no other than the son of the 7th Hokage: Boruto.
