The Vaudevillains are going to face the team of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady at WWE Payback 2016 in the finals of the Tag Team Tournament to determine the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team championships. It is rumored that The Vaudevillains will win the match and challenges The New Day.
According to Daily Wrestling News, Vince McMahon and other top WWE officials are very high on the team of Enzo & Big Cass. Management sees them as a big draw full of charisma with natural microphone skills.
However, the report noted that the WWE will give Enzo & Big Cass a future title reign but not at this time. They will probably wait for the right moment that is why The Vaudevillains will likely defeat them at the Payback event.
The Dudley Boyz can always interfere in the finals and cost Enzo & Big Cass their match. It can lead to a big feud against Bubba Ray and D-Von who can put them over as a legitimate tag team in the main roster.
On the other hand, The Vaudevillains are not very popular with some top officials. According to Cageside Seats, these officials are said to be already "soured" on their act and there is even a talk of sending them back to NXT.
The feeling backstage is that Simon Gotch and Aiden English were only promoted to the main roster because they have been at developmental for a very long time. Gotch was in NXT for three years while English spent four.
Even though they will potentially challenge The New Day for the tag team titles, the reigning champions are still a very hot act that is over the crowd and are big merchandise movers. Big E. recently took to Twitter that The New Day are the number one sellers during WrestleMania week.
Less than a year ago, we had to damn near beg for a single item on shop. This Wrestlemania week, The New Day was #1 in Merch sales.

Nonetheless, the WWE tag team division is getting loaded with the arrival of two teams from NXT. There more tag teams that are awaiting their call up in the main roster like American Alpha, The Revival, Blake & Murphy and The Hype Bros.
