"The Blacklist" season 3 will see James Spader's character Red being betrayed by someone in the finale episode.
Just recently, the hit NBC TV series shocked fans with the death of Megan Boone's character Liz.
Equally shocking is TV Line's Michael Ausiello's confirmation that the upcoming finale episode will focus on Red, and the latter will be betrayed by someone close to him.
"In the season 3 finale, Red will experience a betrayal at the hands of someone very unexpected," he said.
It was also revealed that a new character named Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) will make an appearance in the said episode.
However, the entertainment writer didn't confirm whether or not Alexander will be the one who will betray Red. What is only known is that he is described as a "charming multi-national businessman who runs a global energy empire."
Alexander will officially make an appearance on episode 21.
Meanwhile, "The Blacklist" season 3, episode 20's official synopsis has just been released by NBC.
"The Artax Network" will be about "a mysterious group that uses a worldwide satellite network to operate inflicts a devastating loss on the FBI task force; Reddington faces a ghost from his past," the synopsis read.
According to IBTimes, the task force will also go on a quest to find out who has been trying to kidnap Liz. Their search will lead them to a mysterious group.
The teaser released by NBC for episode 20 showed Red working with the task force. "Cooper (Harry Lennix) will also call Tom (Ryan Eggold) to see if he wants to roll around in the mud in search for Liz's killer."
Episode 20 will also see Liz being laid to rest. All of her family and friends will also gather for her funeral and to say their last goodbyes to her. The promo video also showed snippets from the upcoming funeral scene which is expected to be a very emotional one. The clip also showed Red standing near Liz's tombstone at the cemetery.
"The Artax Network" will also mark the first appearance of Famke Janssen as Susan "Scottie" Halsted.
"The Blacklist" season 3, episode 20 will air on NBC on April 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
