Here is the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and Android N release news for Xperia Z4 Tablet, Z3+, Z3 and Z2.
According to recent reports, Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 smartphones are getting the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. The Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5 devices have already got the Android 6.0.1 update. Furthermore, the Xperia Z4 Tablet has received the Android M update.
Several users were experiencing problems after updating to Xperia Z5 Android Marshmallow. The Android M update was halted and the issues were fixed. After that, the tech company Sony rolled out the Android Marshmallow update again and has also been providing updates to its older devices.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 has just started rolling out. The Xperia Z3 devices with model numbers D6646 and D6653 are getting the update. The Xperia Z2 handsets with model numbers SGP511, SGP512 and SGP521 are getting the Android 6.0.1 update.
Furthermore, the Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) and the Xperia Z3 Compact (D5833) are receiving the newest update.
The new update comes with build number 23.5.A.0.570 and is around 900 MB.
Meanwhile, according to The Verge, the search giant Google has rolled out the Android N Developer Preview to Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z3 is the first non-Nexus series to get the newest Android N.
In March, the tech giant released the Android N Developer Preview to devices such as the General Mobile 4G, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Nexus 6 and Nexus Player. The Android N Developer Preview has now been made available to Xperia Z3 models D6653 and D6603.
The Android N comes with an improved Doze power-saving feature, Bundled Notification, Direct Reply Notification and multi-window support.
Several reports indicate that the Xperia Z3 series will get five more preview updates before the operating system is released to the public.
Sony Xperia Z3 was released in September 2014 and features a 5.2-inch touchscreen display. The smartphone has a 3100mAh non removable battery and measures 146.50mm x 72.00mm x 7.30mm.
It is powered by Snapdragon 801 chipset and has 16GB of internal storage, Digital Trends reported. Some of the other features of Sony Xperia Z3 include a 2.2-megapixel front shooter for selfies, a 20.7-megapixel primary camera on the rear and 3GB of RAM.
