The action in "Nanatsu no Taizai" intensifies as Meliodas just got rid of two more members of the "Ten Commandments." With his destructive powers, some believe Meliodas is from the same lineage as the Demon King.
Last chapter, the battle between Meliodas and the two members of the Ten Commandments, Gloxinia and Dolor began thanks to the opening Escanor created to halt the tournament. With this move, they were able to avoid unnecessary casualties.
Since Escanor is out for the count, Meliodas was forced to face the two powerful demons all by himself. Not to anyone's surprise, Meliodas was able to hold his own since he finally regained his demon powers he sealed for a long time.
Injured, Gloxinia was still manage to deal a blow against Meliodas that sent the latter to a distance. He planned to use the time to heal his and Dolor's injury but in less than three seconds, Meliodas was able to recover and dealt a fatal blow on Gloxinia, tearing his gut. Then, the Captain of the "Seven Deadly Sins"shifted his attention to the giant Dolor and in just a blink of an eye, slashed the founder of the giants in half.
With how destructive Meliodas' power is, he will likely be seen as a threat to mankind in the future, Manga Shinsekai reported. Also, the reason why the Goddess clan wants him dead is due to his link to the Demon Lord and what is more, he may be of the same lineage. The website also noted that Gilfrost is a reincarnation of the powerful Holy Knight, Zaratras, which explains why he has vast knowledge about the demons especially the Ten Commandments.
Meanwhile, fans over Manga Helpers came up with their own "Nanatsu no Taizai" chapter 173 spoilers and predictions and some believe Derrierie and Monspiet are next on Meliodas' list. They were foreshadowed in the previous chapters to have captured a kingdom and devoured all its citizens.
Also, some suggest that Zeldris and Estarossa will be the last to go toe to toe with the hero as both characters seem to share the most history with the protagonist. If it is not a giveaway, both characters share resemblance with Meliodas as well.
