Cleveland Browns relief quarterback Johnny Manziel, also known as Johnny Football, has been on the target of sports critics after the athlete's excessive partying instead of focusing on practice.
Reports show that Manziel has been spotted on clubs in Miami, Colo and Aspen. Recently, Manziel subjected himself to a rehabilitation facility.
Manziel's partying antics has been closely followed by critics, paparazzi and even strangers who happens to have a cellphone camera. On Manziel's own social media account he posted several photos of excessive drinking with one incident of him slurring inaudible remarks while holding a bundle of cash like a mobile phone, according to USA Today.
Johnny Football's excessive lifestyle has deeply affected his on-field performance. He even missed his team's final regular-season walkthrough. What is more appalling is that Manziel did not offer an apology despite his unacceptable behavior.
Recently Manziel has entered a program of rehabilitation due to undisclosed reasons. Browns fans are hoping that the athlete would finally reconfigure his priorities in order to help the team.
A source close to Manziel said that he will be undergoing rehab for at least two weeks and his stay on the rehab facility will depend on doctor's recommendation.
Although many were quick to comment that Manziel is already walking the right path some critics are still skeptical whether he can deliver what is expected of him once the 2015 season starts.
"Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate, and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step," Cleveland Browns adviser Brad Beckworth told ESPN.
Johnny Football and his Browns teammates are expected to return on April for the start of the voluntary offseason workout.
