Japanese publication Asahi has reported that Nintendo is already discussing their plan with several unnamed film companies. The company aims to use 3D animation for their new movies, SlashGear reported.
Nintendo will announce the complete details of their movie plans sometime in the foreseeable future. There is no concrete time frame yet and their Mariners stake sale is yet to happen.
With 3D animation as their medium, the company could make use of the new Pokemon Go augmented reality game as a basis for their plot and story. They could also make a full-length 3D animated Legend of Zelda film.
Fans will have to wait for Nintendo's official announcement regarding their movie plans. They can expect it after they have sold their stake in the Mariners.
