A Florida nurse is suing the "Dog Whisperer" star Cesar Millan after she was wildly attacked by a pit bull that had just come from the "Dog Whisperer" training center six days prior, Daily Mail reported.
Alison Bitney was in California in September 2014 visiting a friend when a dog named Gus brutally bit her left arm leaving it with no feeling or function for good. It was reported that the dog had a history of aggressive behavior.
Bitney filed a lawsuit in California against John Vazzoler, her friend; the Dog Psychology Center in Santa Clarita, Millan; and a rescuer who had saved the dog from euthanasia after an attack in February 2013 in Katy, Texas.
Details of the suit reported by the LA Times include that the fog inflicted "disfiguring open wounds, deep muscle and tendon lacerations" on Bitney.
The dog had previously been sentenced to death by a judge in Texas in February 2014 after he attacked a trainer named Amber Rickles. The dog is now in her custody after its owner surrendered him for the aggressive behavior he is exhibiting, according to Bitney's suit.
The suit obtained by Courthouse News states that "With the pit bull still attached to her left breast, Ms. Rickles backed into a laundry room where the dog released his grip, enabling Ms. Rickles to close the door. The pit bull then broke through the door and attacked Ms. Rickles a third time, latching onto her left arm and breaking it in two places."
Regardless of the gruesome nature of the attack and the strenuous surgeries and rehabilitation the suit says Rickles had to bear this. Gus was saved by a woman named Jennifer Romano-who had initially brought the dog to Rickles.
Bitney stated that it was Romano who appealed to the judge that later on allowed Gus to live in the condition that Milan's Dog Psychology Center will rehabilitate the pit bull, according to the lawsuit.
The complaint says that, "Thereafter, Cesar Milan and his Dog Psychology Center, agreed to take over custody and control of the pit bull and not to release it until it was 'fully deemed a safe member of society."'
However, according to the suit, Rickles admits that the dog owner was not able to comply with the terms of payment to the center and the dog was entrusted to someone with no training or experience on Sept. 17, 2014 and days later, Bitney was attacked.
Despite this, the Dog Psychology Center stated that it was against the strong advice and objection of his trainer to let Gus out of the facility. Even more, Cesar Milan who is named in the suit, has never had any contact with the canine.
