"Girl Meets World" season 3 is rumored to feature a twist in its usual storyline.
According to Parent Herald, instead of writing off a storyline for the lead character Riley (Rowan Blanchard) that will make it seem as though she and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) are fighting over a guy, the former will just be paired with Farkle (Corey Forgelmanis).
Meanwhile, the writers of "Girl Meets World" season 3 recently confirmed that Riley isn't the only one who will find love in the upcoming installment.
"Ski Lodge is this year's Texas. Every episode so far is good. Upstate is real good. Riley, Maya, Lucas all find a relationship. We grow up," the tweet read.
This tweet has led fans to further speculate on who Maya and Lucas could end up with if they won't decide to date each other.
The publication noted that some fans think Maya will be with Josh (Uriah Shelton). This storyline wouldn't come as a surprise because Maya has always been vocal of her fondness for Josh.
By the looks of it, Maya and Lucas or Riley and Lucas will also not end up together. This storyline was already teased in the previous season, but series creator Michael Jacobs opted to not focus on it, saying that love triangles isn't the main storyline in the hit Disney Channel sitcom.
"This will be answered in season 3. It will span probably a third to a half of season 3. Not as primary focus, but always as an underlying thing in existence for the characters. And then when we bring it up to primary, we will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships?" he told The Wrap.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 will premiere on Disney Channel sometime next month.
