White-hair Kaneki is now back in action and with a renewed resolve, he begins to hold his ground against top inspector Arima. Meanwhile, a shocking revelation unfolded as Furuta was revealed to have Ghoul powers.
Last chapter, Kaneki finally realized his full potential by unveiling his Kakuja and Kagune that may rival Arima's powerful Quinque. The protagonist finally realized that his best friend Hide has always been beside him and he is now ready to live a guilt-free life.
Meanwhile, Eto continued to trash Furuta's men which caused the inspector to retreat. When pushed to a corner, Furuta shocked Eto by attacking her with his Kagune, which confirmed that the former is actually a ghoul.
With the shocking turn of events, fans over at Manga Helpers made their own "Tokyo Ghoul:re" chapter 77 predictions. With the series introducing villains left and right, fans discussed the motivation of Eto and Furuta and how it will later affect the series. User Qixus stated that Eto represents the tyrant leader who wants to rule the world using fear. The CCG, who Furuta is a part of, represents the corrupt government who takes advantage of people.
The personal interests from the leaders of both parties are what drives hate to their supporters which always ends in bloodshed. Kaneki, being the hero of the series and is someone who has been a part of both organizations, will always try to meet both parties in the middle and eventually come up a better solution for the Ghouls and humans to co-exist.
Eto, despite her sadistic qualities, has some redeeming factors as well. User Franckie stated that Eto sees herself as a Messianic figure who actually wants the world to change to a better place by getting rid of organizations like the CCG and V, who have oppressed the Ghouls for a very long time now.
Meanwhile, fans over at Reddit are debating whether Furuta is the One-Eyed Ghoul. Based on chapter 76 last panel, his eyes turned to someone who resembles the legendary Ghoul. Here is a review of the previous chapter courtesy of Heart Under Blade reviews.
