Premier League side Everton has until June 10 to finalize Romelu Lukaku's exit from the Goodison Park and rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are waiting on the wings for the Belgian striker's decision on which team he wants to play for next season.
The Daily Express indicated that even when the 23-year-old forward had just finished a superb season with the Toffees, scoring 25 times in 46 appearances in all competitions, Lukaku is still keen on leaving Goodison Park because he desires a Champions League chance next season.
United and Chelsea both did not qualify for the said European club continental competitions and so there is still no guarantee that Lukaku will choose any of them as his next stop this summer.
Aside from the two English top flight teams, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, and Scudetto winners Juventus FC are all rumored to be interested in acquiring the Antwerp, Belgium native's services this coming summer transfer window.
If Lukaku indeed wants Champions League football next season, then he may have to leave England altogether and choose between Spain, Germany, and Italy as an alternative.
Lukaku's father, Roger, recently told reporters in an interview that his son will definitely leave the Toffees before the Euro 2016 competitions begin on June 10.
"Everton are asking around £65 million for Rom," said the elder Lukaku, as per Caught Offside. "I think a transfer will be done before the Euros."
"Romelu will decide his future, but agents have the last word most of the time. I hope and I think Mino Raiola is a honest man," he added.
Lukaku was permanently acquired and signed by Everton to a five-year deal in the summer of 2014 for a club record transfer fee of £28 million after a season-long loan to the squad from Chelsea.
In three seasons with the People's Club, Lukaku had appeared in a total of 127 games in all competitions, scoring 61 goals in the process. He was also a known goalscorer in Belgium when he played for RSC Anderlecht during the first four years of his career, scoring 41 goals in 98 appearances with the said club.
