Calvin Harris, whose real name is Adam Richard Wiles was injured in a serious car crash in Los Angeles on May 20, Friday, and is now recovering.
Causing the crash accident, a 16-year-old girl with several people in a Volkswagen Beetle was speeding up on a narrow Coldwater Canyon road at around 11 p.m., lost control, almost slammed into the mountain, jerked the wheel, crossed over the center divider and crashed the SUV where Harris was in. Because of the incident, the DJ has to cancel two gigs.
The female driver who did not wear her seat belt was ejected from her vehicle, and broke her pelvis. It was not clear who else got injured in the crash accident.
Harris is known for electronic dance music favorites "Sweet Nothing," "We Found Love" with Rihanna and "Summer." "Adam's transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport," according to a post on the Calvin Harris' Facebook page on May 21. Hence, he had to cancel his gig at Omnia. The crash pics showed he was lucky since the SUV could easily have been struck head on, had it been hit a second earlier, according to TMZ.
The 32-year-old Scottish cut his nose and was taken to a local hospital for a facial laceration. There were reports the record producer asked for a private room, and when the accommodation was not available, he got off and left against medical advice. However, conflicting reports from his camp said he was cleared to leave.
The DJ was examined by doctors, sustained some injuries and is now recovering. As a result, he will not be able to perform at his residency, OMNIA nightclub in Las Vegas where he was set on May 27 and June 3. On May 21, he was scheduled to be at the Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Many sent him supportive messages, like "Wishing you a SWIFT recovery." His girlfriend Taylor Swift who was desperate to be with him, was his first phone call after being seen by doctors. The 26-year-old multi-awarded singer was told by her boyfriend that he only had minor injuries, was just shaken up a bit and does not want to cause concern, Mail Online reported.
Swift was determined to cater to his needs, even if she needs to drive him around or make him a cup of tea. She was no-show at the Billboard awards on Sunday night and is speculated to be at his side already.
