Several reliable sources reported that the OnePlus 3 launch date will be on June 14. Aside from this development, there have also been speculations that the upcoming device will be launched at a space station.
The smartphone will be launched in a virtual space station. This virtual space station will be made possible through the use of a VR headset which will be distributed by the company days before launching, Tech Radar reported.
The June 14 launching date of the said device was leaked by a OnePlus customer service representative. A screenshot of the conversation has been preserved for information credibility. During the discussion, it has also been revealed by the customer service representative that users may still be able to watch the OnePlus 3 launching without the use of the VR headset. Gadgets 360 reported that 30,000 units of VR headsets were released alongside the announcement and have been sold right away. Customers from other location like India will be shipped with the VR headset from June 6 to 7.
In terms of specifications, several reports claimed that the OnePlus 3 will be sporting a 5.5-inch display with a 1,080 by 1,920 pixels resolution, a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 4GB/6 GB RAM, a 32 GB/64 GB internal memory storage, a 16 MP rear camera, an NFC feature and a 3,500 mAh battery.
In terms of exterior, Gadgets 360 also noted that OnePlus is planning to overhaul the previous OnePlus 2 appearance to give the upcoming version a sleeker and all-metal design. It is expected that the phone will be coming in two variants differing on its RAM rating and internal storage capacity.
Meanwhile, the NFC feature that was removed from OnePlus 2 will be brought back in OnePlus 3. This may be more helpful for android users in terms of sending and receiving files. Since the event is less than three weeks away, other developments may still be revealed beforehand. Thus, all of the speculated specifications and rumor must still be taken with a grain of salt.
