The latest details for "Arrow" season 5 will feature new information about show's next main villain, a crossover with Supergirl and the Suicide Squad not returning to the show.
TV series star Stephen Amell teased new details regarding season 5's latest main villain within the show as Amell told Variety that their new "bad guy" will be something different and can only be done once when "Arrow" is in its fifth, sixth and seventh seasons. Amell added that he was not about to spill any more details about the main villain but offered a hint that this character has no super powers whatsoever.
Previous reports revealed about the possible main villain that Oliver Green/Green Arrow (Amell) will encounter in "Arrow" season 5 as character's name is called "James" with a description of a "man on a mission" and dangerous contemporary of Oliver Queen as he has suffered a tragic loss in the past and wants vengeance.
James is also described as a a person that will easily shake everyone's hand as their best friend or break their necks like their worst enemy. Casting calls for the "James" character were made as they are looking for anybody of any ethnicity, at their late-20s to 30s and who comes across as a physical threat.
It is speculated that "James" is another DC character being hidden from the audience as one theory suggest that this person is patterned after Bruce Wayne/Batman, who is also rich and driven. Others believed that it could be James Harper, the uncle of Roy Harper/Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and also the superhero Guardian.
In other news, it seems that the rumored "Arrow" and "Supergirl" crossover series might happen soon as Amell stated in an interview that a crossover seems "highly likely" citing that all four DC TV series are in the CW Network.
The "Supergirl" TV series will be moving into the CW Network from its former network CBS and will likely continue its second season there. Fans have already seen a Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) team-up with Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) in a crossover episode which confirmed that existance of the multiverse.
Amell believed that the "Arrow" and "Supergirl" crossover has "potential" as he pointed out that his show has been there the longest and the success of the series has paved the way from other DC series.
Aside from the "Supergirl" and "Arrow" crossover, co-star Willa Holland speaks out about the show's direction regarding abandoned Suicide Squad storylines.
Holland told Mirror that she blames DC from axing all of the show's planned storylines for the Suicide Squad due to the live-action film of the same name from Warner Bros. in their DC Extended Universe films. Holland cited that both Amell and Gustin should be playing Green Arrow and The Flash in the live-action "Justice League" movie.
The Suicide Squad in the "Arrow" TV series was first introduced in season 2 with Deadshot (Michael Rowe) being its prominent member. Holland cited that they can not fight against the decision of the uppe management and must live with the decision whether they like it or not.
The fifth season of "Arrow" will premier in the fall of 2016.
