Dell will be launching its own 2-in-1 laptop at the upcoming Computex event happening this week. The 2-in-1 laptop will be coming in three sizes, a 13-inch, a 15-inch, and a 17-inch which is the first for 2-in-1 laptops.
The 17-inch version is called the Inspiron 17 7000 and is the world's first 17 2-in-1 laptop installed with an infrared camera in order to support Windows' new feature, the Windows Hello. All the three versions will be equipped with Intel's 6th generation core processors, The Verge reported.
Part of the Inspiron 2-in-1 70000 series' specifications are NVIDIA's GeForce 940M graphics chip and a backlit keyboard. It will also include an SD card slot and a USB Type-C port located at the left part. The device will be priced at around $749.
The same report noted that a budget friendly tablet-laptop has been made available by Dell. Dell Inspiron 11 3000 is a budget option 2-in-1 laptop ideal to be used as basic tablet-laptop combination. Priced at only $249, the 11-inch device will be sporting a 1366 by 1768 display.
Unlike its larger variants, the 11-inch variant will only be powered by Intel Core M3 processor which will make it a bit underpowered. The device will also include 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage space, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 connections, an HDMI socket and a microSD slot, Engadget reported.
In addition to these information, the same publication also took note of the 2-in-1 laptop variants in between the 17-inch and the 11-inch. The Dell Inspiron 5000 which comes in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes will retain the infrared camera and Intel Core processor present in the 17-inch variant. However, the USB type-C port will be replaced by a USB 3.0 port. The 5000 series will also be able to support 16 GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM and price for the series will start at $529.
It was confirmed by Dell that the Inspiron 2-in-1 laptop series will be available in the United States and China on June 2. Color availability for each series will vary.
