EVGA has just confirmed that they will be launching both GTX 1070 Founder's Edition and the SuperClocked GTX 1070 on June 10 but the FTW version will have to wait.
NVIDIA's GTX 1080 has been crowned as the king of the GPUs because of its unbelievable performance even in 4K resolution. However, the GTX 1070 seems to be at the sweet spot with its $380 price tag beating the performance of the $1000 GTX Titan X.
Despite the second-tier card being less powerful than its big brother, many are flocking to pre-order the card because it would still be amazing for 1080p and even 1440p gaming. Custom cards will be even better than the reference ones because they will come pre-overclocked by the manufacturers.
Several reviews of the GTX 1070 Founder's Edition have shown that it can beat the GTX Titan X even by a small margin, Windows Central has learned. That is significant enough because the card draws less power which means it generates less heat too, making more headroom for overclocking.
The card is the best choice for those who are still on a 1080p monitor or the ones with more than 60Hz in refresh rates. Users can just supersample their resolution for a higher one with a small impact in performance.
EVGA's Jacob Freeman has confirmed on Twitter that they will have limited EVGA GTX 1070 SC version on launch along with the FE. The GTX 1080 custom cards are just slowly popping up weeks after the May 27 launch which means that the 1070 will have a faster release in terms of the factory-overclocked cards.
@LordGPM May have limited SC at or around launch. FTW no ETA yet.

Many users are gearing to buy the ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte AIB cards because they will run cooler than the Founder's Edition. MSI even has a Sea Hawk version that cools the card via a hybrid solution.
The NVIDIA GTX 1070 only has a TDP rating of 150 Watts, HardOCP reported. That would make the custom cards even have more space to increase their overclocks for the base frequencies.
Other specs of the card include 1920 CUDA cores compared to the 2560 of the GTX 1080, the same 64 ROPs and 8GB GDDR5 instead of its larger brother's GDDR5X. The reviews have shown that it will only have about 20 percent less performance power compared to the top card.
The EVGA GTX 1070 SuperClocked version will be available on June 10 along with their Founder's Edition. Pricing has not been revealed but it could be cheaper than the $450 FE price tag.
