CBS has yet to release any confirmation, but fans may just have to say goodbye to the geeks that they learned to love. After being on air for 9 seasons, there are speculations that "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 would be the end of the road for the series.
Hollywood Reporter interviewed the show runner Steve Molaro back in December 2015, and during the interview, the showrunner dished that Season 10 may just be it for the show. Molaro told Hollywood Reporter that Season 10 in reality is the "ending point" of the show, but he is not closing his doors for the possibility that more seasons could follow.
"I don't know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can," Molaro stated.
In the same interview, Chuck Lorre co-creator of "The Big Bang Theory" revealed that up until now, he could not believe that the show they created lasted for 9 seasons and now about to begin with its Season 10. He also said that as long as they feel that the fans are still enjoying, they will continue to make shows that they are proud of, as "The Big Bang Theory" would be "worth continuing."
Besides the rumor of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 bidding goodbye, there are also reports circling that after the last season, a movie version of the series would be released.
Kunal Nayyar, who plays the role of Raj, said in during an interview with E! News that he does not think a movie format would complement the style that the show used, especially because they film with a live audience present. Also, Nayyar did not deny the rumor that "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 would be its last season.
In addition, Nayyar also noted that all of their contracts end in "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10, but he followed up with "I don't know what's going to happen. ... If it were up to me, personally, I would love to do the show as long as you guys would have us on the air."
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 will premiere on Sept. 22.
