‘Shokugeki no Soma’ chapter 171 spoilers and predictions: Is Erina now infatuated with Soma?

The last chapter of "Shokugeki no Soma" brought closer the two main characters of the series as Soma and Erina now shares a bond that will likely go a long way. Now, it would be interesting to see if she will go against her father, Azami and aid the Polar Star Dorm in their quest to stop Central.

Last chapter began with Soma's dish finally ready to be eaten by Erina. He came up with a Tempura-Egg Rice bowl. The other Polar Star Dorm students were mystified on how he was able to deep-fry an egg. Apparently, his secret is frozen eggs as he dipped it in Tempura batter then fried it and he used it as his centerpiece to his rice bowl.

Soma then urged Erina to go take a bite as it will taste a lot better when it is hot. As usual, she found a way to ridicule his cooking and she simply does not like his unorthodox way. She also felt insulted that she will taste his brand of cooking. The other tenants noted that they saw him buy some super cheap eggs the other day to keep in stock. However, it was too late as she was about to grab a bite.

After tasting Soma's dish, Erina had a foodgasm and Soma revealed another secret to his dish. She was dumbfounded with his style, as no chef will try to use low caliber ingredients. Suddenly, she was reminded of Joichiro's cooking and she went on to finish Soma's dish. The last page hinted that Erina finally respects Soma's style of cooking.

Now, fans over at Reddit believe that in "Shokugeki no Soma" chapter 171, Erina will finally rekindle her love for cooking. Soma will now be her inspiration to get better at cooking and some also said that this will lead to a potential romantic relationship between the two.

Meanwhile, fans over at Manga Helpers believe that this will be the start of Erina's transformation as a character, dropping her arrogant attitude and will start to act like her colleagues in the Polar Star Dorm.
