Apple fans have been clamoring for the release of the 2016 MacBook Pro, which was supposed to be unveiled during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference 2016. As opposed to the Cupertino-based tech giant displaying a new laptop, the company revealed a new operating system - the macOS Sierra.
It is the second time in a row this year that Apple has failed to meet fan's expectations when it comes to the release of the MacBook Pro 2016. Previous rumors suggested that the company would unveil the laptop at its event in March, but the MacBook Pro was absent.
While some fans have been disappointed, others were aware that a MacBook Pro 2016 release would not happen. The WWDC event is known for releasing software and not hardware updates.
There were no updates on the next generation of the Pro lineup, but some fans still believe that a new MacBook Pro launch is imminent. As a result, speculations will continue to surface given that the MacBook Pro is a device worth waiting.
Apple revealed a new operating system, the macOS Sierra, and based on the report from 9 to 5 Mac, the software gives some hints on what fans should expect from the MacBook Pro 2016. Similarly, images have surfaced online highlighting new features for the upcoming laptop.
The latest images that surfaced online apparently confirm the long speculated OLED touch bar above the keyboard of the upcoming MacBook Pro, according to Apple Insider. The OLED touch bar will reportedly replace the conventional set of function keys. The bar features a customizable set of commands as opposed to the tradition function keys that only deliver fixed commands.
Now, codes in the new macOS Sierra reveal that the operating system will support the speculated touch features. The macOS Sierra comes with codes like "kHIDUsage LED DoNotDisturb," which indicates that a "Do Not Disturb" button would be included in the touch panel. Furthermore, there is the "kHIDUsage LED NightMode" code that could be used to set up a dark mode for the laptop.
The new discovery is yet to be confirmed, and if it turns out true, fans should be excited about a refreshed MacBook Pro 2016. The device did not appear during the WWDC 2016 event, and therefore, rumors are rife that the developer will eventually unveil the MacBook Pro 2016 in September.
