Pokémon GO can now be seen at the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store but is still not available for the United States, Japan and most parts of the world.

There are some reports claiming that Australia can now download the Pokémon GO app, which is not surprising considering that they are one of the first areas to have beta tests several weeks back. Testers have already leaked the gameplay videos and photos of the app but people want to have the game on their phone to try it out for themselves.

Niantic and the Pokémon Company have collaborated to make the new game possible. It takes the same geolocation mechanic from the successful Ingress game and uses it to make players travel around their neighborhood or even farther in order to catch Pokémon and to take over Pokémon Gyms.

The Pokémon Company said in a statement that customers should wait for "a while" for the Pokémon GO formal launch across the globe as US and Japanese customers still cannot download the app, 9 to 5 Mac has learned. Searching it through the Google Play Store app will not show the app itself, but it can be searched through a browser and it will only show that the app is not compatible for any of the user's devices if they are outside Australia.

Once globally launched, players will be able to scour every inch of their home and streets to find Pokémon. The geolocation feature of the game means that some Pokémon may only be available in certain areas.

Pokémon GO is now available in Australia and New Zealand through the iTunes App Store, Polygon reported. Niantic has not yet revealed the exact time and date that it will be available for the rest of the world.

There are some that are outside the said countries but can already play the game. Users can try out the Pokémon GO apk download to see if it already works for them.

Players will have to wait if the alternative does not work for them. Niantic is set to release the Pokémon GO game globally in July and the rollout in New Zealand and Australia could mean that the global launch is indeed close.
