"American Horror Story" Season 6 will begin haunting TV screens on Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. The announcement has been made by FX, though, much is still unknown about the upcoming season's storyline other than the fact that the show will be tackling a new format this time.
The upcoming season will see the return of pop star Lady Gaga to its cast, though, her role in not likely to be as big as it was last time. She will be joined by actress Angela Bassett and Cheyenne Jackson.
"Right now, we're shooting 'Horror Story,'" the "Love Is Strange" actor told Out while discussing the possibility of a tour to support his new album. On further probing about the upcoming season, the actor remained tight-lipped and refused to divulge any detail regarding the plot. He appeared in the Season 5 as one of the leads, alongside Gaga and Matt Bomer.
It is also rumored that the anthology horror TV series will once again include some creepy kids, following "Hotel"'s coterie of vampire children. Earlier this year at PaleyFest, the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy had famously hinted in an open forum that children could play a huge role in Season 6, E! News reported.
Despite the lack of information about the theme for the upcoming season, a couple of fan theories are gaining ground. A major "American Horror Story" Season 6 spoiler state that the show will dive into an Antichrist plot. Fans believe that the upcoming season is likely to follow the story of the Antichrist shown in Season 1's "Murder House," where the Antichrist was portrayed by a young blonde boy.
Since Murphy had famously revealed in the past that all of the seasons are, and will be, connected, this theme of Antichrist seems to fit perfectly with all of the other hints fans have been given about Season 6. Another fan theory claims that "American Horror Story" Season 6 will show Gaga as a singer who uses her voice to bait children for a serial killer. Watch the snippets from the last season below:
