"The Flash" Season 3 will feature "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton in one of its main roles, and it looks like John Wesley Shipp will also play a bigger role not only in "The Flash," but also in another superhero show, "Legends of Tomorrow."
It has been confirmed that "The Flash" Season 3 will feature "Flashpoint Paradox" as its storyline. In this world, Barry's mother, Nora Allen is alive at the expense of his powers. Also, in the animated movie, the timeline alteration caused great powers to go to war such as Aquaman and the people of Atlantis battling Wonderwoman and her Amazons, which led to significant casualties.
Perhaps, the biggest addition in the cast so far is Felton, who is set to play Julian Dorn, Hollywood Reporter reported. However, it is yet to be revealed if the actor will be a friend or foe as the only information announced about his character is he will be a CSI at the same police department Barry and Joe West work at.
Another question left unanswered is John Wesley Shipp's involvement in "The Flash" Season 3 as he will remain as a cast regular. With Henry Allen out of the picture, he will most likely reprise the role of Garrick, the Flash from Earth-3. It is believed that he will eventually serve as Barry's new mentor and father figure. Also, rumor has it that he will be part of the cast of "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2.
Also, "Supergirl" will be joining the superhero line-up of The CW and it is speculated that it is Supergirl's turn to visit Flash and Earth-1. Since there will no longer be any conflicts with varying TV networks, it is assumed that the Earth "Supergirl" revolves in will now be much closer to the other three shows. Lastly, there are speculations that Matt Letscher will be returning to the cast as the Reverse-Flash, who is also the main villain in "Flashpoint Paradox" storyline.
Meanwhile, the cast is now back in the set and are starting to shoot the "Flashpoint" storyline, Enstarz reported. "The Flash" Season 3 is set to resume on Oct. 4 2016.
Here are some fan theories on the upcoming season.
