Chinese-American beauty Lucy Liu is set to star in the new film "Future World," which boasts a promising plot and an all-star cast. It tells about a young boy searching for a future world Wasteland where he can find the rumored cure for his dying mom.
The young boy is actually a prince who lives in one of the last safe havens, Oasis. With a robot named Ash, he goes on the daring journey and into self-discovery through Wastelands.
James Franco, who is known for his unique creativity conceptualized the post apocalyptic thriller "Future World" while Jay Davis and Bruce Cheung penned the screenplay. Franco also acts in the movie and directs the film with Cheung.
Aside from Franco and Liu, "Future World" stars Snoop Dogg, Suki Waterhouse, Milla Jovovich, Jeffrey Wahlberg, Margarita Levieva and rapper Method Man among others. Financing the film is Ambi Group with association of Black Sparrow and Fyzz Facility.
The "Future World" producers are Dark Rabbit Productions, Andrea Iervolino, Jay Davis, Monika Bacardi and Vince Jolivette while Ambi Distribution handles global sales, Variety reported. Iervolino and Bacardi own Ambi Group.
Liu is in CBS' "Elementary" as Dr. Joan Watson alongside Jonny Lee Miller, who plays Sherlock Holmes. She directed two episodes of the show. In 2015, the actress-director recently welcomed her son Rockwell Lloyd Liu via surrogate, which she kept a secret prior to its announcement on social media. She admitted that one of her fears was weighing if she has to tell people or not.
"I was scared in sort of, pulling the trigger," Liu told ABC News in an interview. "I decided I'm not gonna tell anyone at all, and just blast it out all at once, once it's done."
Liu also admitted during the interview that she is open to advice about motherhood and parenting from women. As for the bad advice, the Hollywood actress just has to filter or simply ignore them.
Liu works with Tylenol on its campaign, #HowWeFamily to celebrate various ways mothers become mothers. She has been a UNICEF ambassador, advocating children's health and protection.
