Many Hallyu fans are anticipating the premiere of tvN's new romantic fantasy drama, "Cinderella and Four Knights," which seems to many as the next "Boys over Flowers." It has been seven years since "Boys Over Flowers" aired the 25th and final episode of the blockbuster KBS 2TV series, but until not it remains extremely popular across Asian countries.
"Cinderella and Four Knights" follows the story of a high school student named Eun Ha-Won (Park So Dam), who dreams of becoming a veterinarian, but struggles hard to earn money for her education. She ends up living in a chateau called Sky House with three third generation of chaebol cousins, charged with a particular task regarding her housemates.
Earlier this week, the drama's production staff released the first poster for tvN's "Cinderella and Four Knights" to multiple local news outlets. The released poster obtained by KMusic gave fans a glimpse of the rich chaebols cousins, Jung Il Woo, Ahn Jae Hyun and CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin and their bodyguard Lee Yoon Sung (Choi Min Sung), who sweep Park So Dam off her feet in a classic Cinderella story.
"The main poster reflects the image and story that the [drama] will be portraying," Soompi quoted the production staff as saying before a group of local reporters. "We will soon be revealing character posters and the characters' stories one by one."
"Blood" star Ahn plays the playboy tycoon, Kang Hyun Min, who lives by no rules, while "49 Days" actor Jung will transform into a kind-hearted but anti-social rebel, Kang Ji Woon, who was raised in status to become a member of the royal family in Sky House. The third chaebol cousin is a top singer-songwriter, Kang Seo Woo (Lee Jung Shin), who is chivalrous and compassionate towards Eun Ha-won (Park).
Helmed by Kwon Hyuk-Chan, "Cinderella and Four Nights" is based on the novel "Cinderellawa Nemyungui Kisa" by Baek Myo, first published by BandiBooks on Nov. 4, 2011. The 16-episode drama was fully pre-produced before its premiere with the filming began Jan. 31 and successfully wrapped up on May 31.
Other stars include actress Park Hye Ji, Ko Bo Gyeol, and Kim Yong-Geon. "Cinderella and Four Knights" is slated to premiere on Aug. 12 at 11:00 PM (KST). Check out the trailer below:
