"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will see Sarah Drew's April taking care of her newborn.
In the finale episode for season 12, April gave birth to a healthy infant. Upon arriving at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, she was welcomed by her estranged husband Jackson (Jesse Williams).
According to Melty, "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will kick off right where season 12 left off - at least in terms of April and Jackson's lives.
In an interview with Etalk, Drew hinted on the possibility of April and Jackson getting back together.
"They've been through so much together, and I feel like this baby could really bring them back together," she said.
Unfortunately, the actress failed to give any more information about April and Jackson's future in the hit ABC series.
Meanwhile, "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will also reveal more information about lead character Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
In the finale episode for season 12, Meredith decided to hook up with Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) once again. However, her decision to do so could have serious implications.
While at Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen's (Kevin McKidd) wedding, Meredith found out that Maggie (Kelly McCreary) has strong feelings for Nathan. Unfortunately, it seems that the latter is only interested in Meredith.
At that time, Meredith still didn't tell Maggie the truth about her and Nathan, but fans can expect that this is a storyline that will be explored in season 13.
While speaking with TV Line, Henderson said that losing someone he and Meredith loves individually is something that links them with each other. This is one of the reasons why it was easy to just hookup with each other.
"I think that's always really powerful between a couple and it may be a fertile ground for them to actually have a relationship with some meaning," he said.
The actor continued that Meredith and Nathan don't necessarily have to treat each other perfectly well. In fact, they can even call each other for their mistakes.
"It might be nice for her to have the opportunity to actually lighten up a bit around some stuff," he said.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
