Will "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 be the show's last run? It may sound heartbreaking, but it's a possibility. At an event held in May, actor Kunal Nayyar, who plays Rajesh on the series, hinted that the show may soon come to a close.
Nayyar revealed that based on their contract, "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 could be the last outing for the comedy sitcom. "To be completely honest, I know people are gonna want to know what happens after season 10. I don't know what's going to happen," E! News quoted Nayyar as saying.
Even if the show ends after 10 seasons, a "Big Bang Theory" movie will definitely be in the works, right? Not really. Nayyar added that bringing the show to the big screen isn't likely, considering that a movie format would be very difficult to pull off since "Big Bang Theory" is filmed in front of a live audience.
The cast and creators of the "The Big Bang Theory" have been going back and forth in addressing the show's future. In December 2015, showrunner Steve Malero stated that "the reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point."
According to Metro, Malero changed his tune in March 2016 when he said, "I'll keep pushing forward and, as we learn more, we'll adjust if necessary. If everything keeps going the way it's been going, absolutely [I'm up for more]."
Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco also said that they'd be up to do more of the show so long as everyone else is willing to go for the long haul.
In the meantime, fans are excited to see how the relationship between Sheldon's mom and Leonard's dad will develop in "Big Bang Theory" Season 10, following their flirtatious encounter in the Season 9 wrapper. What happened after the events in the Season 9 finale will be discussed in "Big Bang Theory" Season 10 premiere. There will be no time jump between Season 9 and Season 10, which means fans will find out what exactly happened to Alfred and Mary.
There will also be relationship milestones for Howard and Bernadette and Sheldon and Amy. Howard and Bernadette will be "baby planning" in "Big Bang Theory" season 10.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 is expected to return this September.
