"Bones" Season 11 finale airs July 21, Thursday on FOX. Episode 22 is titled "The Nightmare in the Nightmare" and it will see Brennan in danger. In episode 13, the show introduced a serial killer, also known as The Puppeteer, who lived with the corpses of his victims before disposing them of. However, the Jeffersonian team failed to stop the serial killer brutally killing his victims.
The official synopsis (via Spoiler TV) for "Bones" Season 11 episode 22 will see the return of The Puppeteer. In "The Nightmare in the Nightmare," Brennan and others will come together to catch the serial killer.
According to the description of the finale segment, the team begins the investigation and figure the serial killer from the past might be involved in the murders. As for Brennan, she feels the burden of guilt over her retirement last year. She blames herself for not bringing an end to the brutality.
However, she herself might be in a problem. Speculations suggest that The Puppeteer might be targeting Brennan.
A promo video for "Bones" Season 11 episode 22 teases the events of the finale. It showcases the shocking moment when the team realises that the victim was supposed to be Brennan. Later, Booth finds out that Brennan is missing and has been kidnapped by the serial killer. Scroll down to watch the trailer online.
Meanwhile, "Bones" executive producer Jonathan Collier talked about Season 11 finale in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He revealed that the series' "key character is threatened." Further, he revealed that episode 22 will end with a major cliffhanger.
"We really wanted to spook, and we also wanted to go to a villain who kind of sees the world like Brennan does," Collier told the publication. "We're going to go darker, scarier," he adds.
