"Game of Thrones" (GoT) star Kit Harrington shaved off his beard earlier this month, to the surprise of GoT fans. And the actor is keeping it trim as he continues filming for his upcoming movie, "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan" in Montreal, Canada.
Harrington, who plays the beloved character of Jon Snow on the hit HBO drama series, is known for his trademark beard and long dark locks. However, according to the Daily Mail, the actor is spotted up and about in Montreal sporting a mere stubble, in anticipation of his role in the new film project.
"The Death and Life of John F. Donovan" is a Canadian drama that revolves around a movie star, John F. Donovan, and his correspondence with an 11-year-old actor-to-be named Rupert Turner. Donovan's letters to the boy and their pen-pal relationship are then exposed by a journalist at a gossip magazine, bringing about ill-founded assumptions and accusations by the public that send Donovan into a vertical downfall. Ten years after Donovan's death, the young actor recollects their special friendship. Through these two people's lives, the movie will explore the hardships of being in the movie industry and the challenges of fame.
The movie, written and directed by Xavier Dolan, features an all-star ensemble. Aside from Harrington, who takes the lead as John F. Donovan, other cast members include Natalie Portman, Sunsan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Jessica Chastain, Bella Thorne, Thandie Newton, Chris Zylka, and others. Adele will also be making her acting debut in this film.
According to NZ City News, Adele's role in the film is not yet confirmed, but she will be filming her scene when she takes a break from touring. Adele had worked with Dolan on the music video for her hit single, "Hello," and the writer-director thinks the singer can bring so much to the screen.
After Montreal, filming for the movie will move to Prague in September, to London in October, and then to New York in November.
