"Gilmore Girls" fans rejoice! Netflix has just dropped the first trailer and release date of its highly anticipated revival of the beloved series.
The streaming giant revealed during the TCA panel discussion on Wednesday, July 27 that the reboot, titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" will make its debut on Nov. 25, according to E! News.
The Netflix revival will see original series regulars including Melissa McCarthy (Sookie St. James), Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) and Scott Paterson (Luke Danes) among others returning to Stars Hollow in four 90-minute episodes this Thanksgiving weekend.
The show, written and directed by creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and husband Daniel Palladino, returns nearly a decade after the end of the original series and will continue where the show left off, picking up after the death of Richard Gilmore (Edward Hermann). Each chapter of the four-part series is set in a different season of a calendar year.
During the TCA panel discussion, Amy and Dan did not comment on the show's future after the four episodes, but Pattterson did not rule out the possibility of more "Gilmore Girls."
"Who knows, it could keep going and going and going, as long as we all go to the gym and stay in shape," he said, according to Variety.
This is what it is right now," Amy added. "We put these together, we told these stories, and now we throw them out to the universe."
The first footage of the upcoming series brings the nostalgia as it features some of the famous landmarks from the original series such as Dragonfly Inn and Luke's diner before showing a short clip of a conversation taking place between Lorelai and Rory.
The clip shows the two Gilmore girls discussing whether or not Lorelai would be friends with Amy Schumer and an inquisitive Rory googling things on her smartphone all the time because she likes "knowing things."
