Last season's football champions Paris Saint-Germain of the French Ligue 1and Leicester City of the English Premier League are set to meet at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on July 30, Saturday in a North America leg encounter in the 2016 International Champions Cup.
The French champions are having a remarkable preseason as of late as they are unbeaten in three games against big-name opponents so far.
New head coach Unai Emery, who replaced Laurent Blanc this summer, led the squad to a victory in his PSG debut over English side West Bromwich Albion, 2-1, earlier this month before opening their 2016 ICC stint with a convincing 3-1 win against Italian Serie A team Inter Milan last Monday.
In their latest fixture, they defeated one of the biggest names in this year's friendlies, Real Madrid, 3-1, at the Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Wednesday to stay perfect in their preseason campaign, as per ESPN.
Belgian defender Thomas Meunier topscored for the club with a brace at the 35th and 40th to follow up Jonathan Ikone's opener at the second minute. Real's Brazilian left back Marcelo scored a consolation one minute before the halftime break to put his team on the board.
Meanwhile, English top flight titlists Leicester City is also having a good preseason with three straight wins as well after defeating Oxford United and Nuneaton Town in their first two friendlies in England.
Their third friendly win came at the Celtic Park in Glasgow during their opening match in this year's ICC against Scottish Premiership winners Celtic FC, which ended up tied at 1-1 after regulation. The Foxes went on to win 6-5 via penalties, SkySports reported.
Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez, who is rumored to be exiting the King Power Stadium this summer, scored the opening goal for Leicester one minute after the restart before Celtic's Eoghan O'Connell equalized it at the 59th.
Both teams went scoreless from there as the match has to be decided via a penalty shootout. The first ten spot kicks were successful until the Bhoys' James Forrest missed his while Foxes defender Daniel Amartey sank his turn to claim the win.
The predicted result is a high-scoring 3-2 victory for Paris Saint-Germain.
