Filming for "Poldark" Season 2 is officially complete; therefore, all that fans need to do now is to wait for the big television premiere.
BBC has confirmed that "Poldark" Season 2 will return to TV on Sept. 4, with Aidan Turner back in all his handsome and charming glory as Ross Poldark. Radio Times reported that the 10-episosde sophomore season will "pick up exactly where we left off from last year."
"So it's a time when Ross and Demelza have just lost their child, his company is down the pan, they're broke, and he's been arrested. It looks like he's going to prison. It's a cheery beginning!" Turner confirmed.
Here's everything you need to know about the drama that's about to unfold in "Poldark" Season 2:
Ross-Elizabeth-Demelza love triangle heats up
Turner revealed that there will lots of "ups and downs" for all of the characters in "Poldark" Season 2. But for the most part, Poldark is torn between two women - his wife Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) and his first love Elizabeth (Heida Reed).
Turner teased that his character feels as though there's "unfinished business" with Elizabeth. "He's idealized her for so long," Oregon Live quoted Turner as saying. "He would have thought about her every day on the battlefields of Virginia, and to come home and to not have her, to not be able to tell her how he feels, to not be able to hold her, to marry her, to see himself living with her, it was probably very difficult."
On the other hand, Poldark is "absolutely in love with Demelza." Thus, Turner begs the question: "Is it possible to be in love with more than one person?"
Demelza is pregnant again?
During the filming of "Poldark" Season 2, Tomlinson was spotted with a baby bump underneath her dress. In this scene, Demelza and Ross were walking hand-in-hand through the Cornish countryside. After grieving the loss of their child in the first season, it appears that the couple is moving on and are expecting another child.
Poldark faces trial
Poldark is facing a trial for his involvement in the plunder of the wrecked ship owned by the Warleggans. If he is found guilty, the punishment for the crime could be death.
"Poldark" Season 3 in the works
The "Poldark" cast will begin filming for Season 3 in September. Although they've only received the first part of their script, the cast will be back in Cornwall for filming.
