The daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, now faces charges filed by celebrity hair colorist Michelle Pugh for intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation and disclosure of personal information. Pugh is the alleged third party that caused the marriage of the Osbourne couple to break.
Amid rumors of Pugh's affair with Ozzy in May, Kelly tweeted angry posts, posting her direct phone number. Kelly's tweets reportedly caused much backslash to Pugh on social media, and that is the very reason behind the latter's lawsuit.
"In the age of social media, reality TV and the internet, anyone, especially a celebrity can launch a global attack," Pugh's lawyer F. Edie Mermelstein told PEOPLE in a statement. "Leaving an indelible and permanent stain on a chosen target, while inciting masses to demean, degrade, comment and harass."
The lawyer added that with a strong media presence and more than four million followers, Kelly did that to Pugh on Twitter. Pugh now takes a stand against cyber bullying.
"Anyone looking for cheap chunky LOW-lights a blow out and a b***job call [phone number]," Kelly previously tweeted. She also added, "My father is almost 70 ever heard of elder abuse?"
As for Kelly's accusation of elder abuse, Pugh sees it as not only wrong but defamatory, and caused her a lot of problems. She claimed she lost business and that Ozzy did not support her financially.
Pugh indicated that she sent Kelly a cease letter in May, but asserted that her phone number was not deleted for almost a month. According to the lawyer, there are laws that address damage and harm to an individual's reputation and the publication of private information. The lawyer concluded that as per policies and rules of Twitter and laws in California, Kelly publicly exposed her client to disgrace, ridicule and hatred.
Lawsuit documents stated that Pugh was slut-shamed and bullied for allegedly breaking a marriage, but wrongfully accused of a crime which held her up to shame, ridicule and hate.
Pugh admitted a three-year affair with Ozzy but denied she abused him, TMZ reported. Her lawsuit claims that her relationship with Kelly's father was not a fling, that he made advances, making their friendly relationship romantic in 2013. Pugh claimed they secretly dated until May.
As for the Ozzy and Sharon's breakup, Pugh said it was not about infidelity but financial issues and control. Meanwhile, Sharon discussed Ozzy's sex addiction on "The Talk" on Aug. 3, Wednesday.
Here is a clip when Kelly first reacted to her parents' breakup.
