It is good that “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki had finished all his scheduled fan meets in China before the Chinese government placed a ban on those kinds of activities because of military action on the part of the South Korean government.
During those fan meets, the 31-year-old actor had a lot of opportunities to make a lot of facial expressions which observers says is an art rather than just contortion of facial muscles. Song Joong-ki, in fact, is part of a list of five Hallyu stars whom Soompi has listed as actors who “steal the moment with their reactions and facial expression.”
If Song Joong-ki had read speculations about the impact of the Beijing ban on Korean celebrities holding fan meets in China on his fan meets, the actor probably would also exhibit some more facial expressions worthy of capturing on film. He is No. 5 on the list of Soompi which noticed his strong facial expression after he finished his compulsory military service of two years and did “Descendants of the Sun.” He has also shown a lot of those unique facial expressions in recent fan meets.
No. 1 on the list is Kim Seul Gi, particularly for her role in tvN’s “Oh My Ghostess” where she portrayed a ghost who suffered from memory loss and was attempting to solve her unfinished business.
Yoon Shi Yoon, No. 2 on the list, stands out for his smirk and melodramatic scoffing seen on only one side of his mouth. Using this talent, he could play any role such as a poor man who becomes rich, a video-game designer or the son of a mistress serving a cursed princess.
The seamless ability to shift characters from a shy, sleepless chef who saw a ghost to an extrovert possessed by a man-eating ghost, the third actor on the list, Park Bo Young, got raves for her acting. She once paired with Song Joong-ki in “A Werewolf Boy.”
On fourth spot is Jo Jung Suk who did not surprise viewers with his acting skills honed in theatres. It was quite recent only that he crossed-over to film and TV dramas, making memorable ones such as in “You’re The Best, Lee Soon Shin.
