"The Bachelorette" 2016 wrapped up with JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers being engaged, and now fans are speculating on how "The Bachelor" 2017 will be. While "The Bachelor" 2017 is still months away, rumors are rife that Luke Pell may be the next bachelor.
Rumors about the next bachelor took the center stage long before "The Bachelorette" 2016 ended. Among the prominent people who have had a say on the dating series is Steve Carbone, popularly known as Reality Steve.
Steve has been spoiling events that will take place in "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." This year, he guessed well on the bachelor whom Fletcher would pick. Additionally, he previously predicted that Ben Higgins would choose Lauren Bushnell over Fletcher, something that did happen.
In a recent interview with Guide Live, Carbone dished on the person he believes is best suited for "The Bachelor" 2017.
"Everything I'm hearing is Luke (Pell) will be the next bachelor," Carbone said in his usual spoiling tone. "The fact he formerly served our country, Afghanistan, all-American boy - he's got the whole setup. It's just perfect."
Pell has indeed been a fan-favorite from the start, and he made it to the top four bachelors after Fletcher's heart. He may eventually find true love if he becomes next year's bachelor.
On the other hand, many fans are still concerned about ABC's alleged absence of diversity when it comes to its contestants and leads. During the interview, Carbone had something to say about diversity.
According to Carbone, the series has had 32 seasons but there has never been a minority lead. ABC as well cannot deny this fact.
Channing Dungey, ABC Entertainment President, addressed the issue during his appearance at the Television Critics Association press tour last week.
In a statement via ABC News, Dungey said that he believes one of the biggest changes that they should do is to increase the pool of diversity candidates from the start. The president seemed to assure fans that there will be more diversity when "The Bachelor" 2017 debuts.
