Social media has been filled with numerous supportive messages to cheer on the USA team in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Gymnast and gold medalist Simone Biles and Zac Efron has even shared several sweet Twitter posts over the athlete's Olympic matches.
Biles' impressive skills have made her one of the American fans' favorite athletes in the Rio Olympics. The 19-year-old gymnast has recently nabbed her first gold medal in the prestigious sporting event. Several netizens, as well as some Hollywood celebrities, have posted their support for the young lady. However, her social media interactions with "Baywatch" star Efron has caught the attention of many fans.
The actor took to Twitter on Tuesday, Aug. 9, to congratulate Biles for landing a spot in the women's All-Around Finals, E!Online reported. He also commended the young athlete for her gymnastic abilities. He even tagged the Olympic gold medalist in his Twitter post that led to Biles posting a response on the said social media site.
She thanked the actor for his well-wishes and support. Biles also invited Efron to watch the Team Finals that was held on Wednesday, Aug. 10. The "Highschool Musical" star did not disappoint the Olympic gymnast and assured Biles that he will watch the said event. He wrote on Twitter, "Of course I'm watching the #FinalFive dominate the floor!"
Efron even included a snapshot of himself standing in front of a group photo that included Biles, along with other female athletes such as Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas and Madison Kocian. The actor even posed with his two hands forming the shape of a heart near his chest.
Biles has previously revealed that she has been a big fan of the actor. She even told Ellen DeGeneres that she found Efron gorgeous during her guest appearance on the TV host's show. She has even revealed in an NBC interview that she has a life-sized poster of the Hollywood star inside her bedroom, as stated in the same report.
Apart from Efron, other Hollywood celebrities also took to Twitter to share their admiration for Biles' skills, USA Today reported. TV personality Kim Kardashian-West has shared how her daughter North has started to emulate some of Biles gymnastics moves. The reality star stated that North has been "rolling around on the bed" after she watched the Olympic gold medalist's performance.
