A Syrian child who was injured from an air strike in Aleppo, Syria, was seen and photographed as being in complete confusion.
Photos and videos of a Syrian kid named Omran Danqueesh, whose name was cited by the media according to Time, surfaced on August 18, Thursday. In the videos, he was brought into the ambulance during rescue, with blood and dust covering the entirety of his little, young body.
Danqueesh appeared to be completely perplexed and bewildered during the whole time while sitting after being rescued. At one point, even touched and scrubbed a bloody part of his left face and looked to his hand after, appearing even more confused upon seeing the blood all over his left hand.
The images and videos have gone viral and have caused relentless outrage among people on the internet. People have dubbed the child as being "the ultimate face of war", representing all of the innocent victims, and most especially children, who are all dying as collateral damage to the wars that are happening in the country.
Danqueesh, after being made to sit in an ambulance where the controversial photographs and videos have been taken, was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. The kid was said to have suffered from light head wounds and eventually was released later at the same night.
The images portraying the child were the reason for the revulsion among people from social media and others. The little boy felt no emotion during the whole scene, which was the most disturbing part of all, because it meant that he was too shocked to cry, to react angrily, or to show any feeling at all.
Aljazeera quoted Staffan de Mistura, UN special envoy, as saying that at least 400,000 people have died as a result of the war in Syria. This has caused mass destruction and upheaval in the whole country, which have also spawned a lot of controversies regarding its refugees.
For what it's worth, Danqueesh has painted a unique symbolism that brought shockwaves of realisations to the whole world, and the fact that he is still alive may make him a revolutionary symbol in the future, all because of an image of his gruesome state.
