Sasha Banks lost the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam when Charlotte reversed the Bank Statement into a pin. According to the latest rumors, Banks is suffering from a back injury and she could be out for several weeks.
Many fans inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn were shocked after Charlotte regained the WWE Women's Title from Banks. Rumors quickly spread that The Boss is going to be suspended due to violating the WWE Wellness Policy but it was not the case.
According to PWInsider (subscription required), the decision to have Banks lose her title at SummerSlam was made last week. The 24-year-old superstar has been given a time off to heal several injuries, especially her back.
Banks has been dealing with back pain for a while now and it is in the lower lumbar section. She is scheduled to undergo some tests early in September and the WWE already incorporated her back injury to a storyline.
Nevertheless, The Boss is not expected to be out for a very long time and she is not going to need any kind of surgery, Wrestling Inc. reported. She just needs time to heal and it is also the perfect time to have her honeymoon.
The former WWE and NXT women's champion recently got married to WWE costume designer Sarath Ton, more famously known as Kid Mikaze on Xavier Woods' UpUpDownDown YouTube channel. In her absence, Bayley was officially promoted to the main roster in this week's episode of Monday Night Raw.
Bayley immediately confronted Charlotte while also defeating Dana Brooke in a singles match to delight the crowd. There were several rumors last month that the WWE is going to turn Banks heel next year to start a program with Bayley.
One of the rumored plans for WrestleMania 33 next year in Orlando is a Sasha Banks vs. Bayley match. It is a very interesting match in the biggest wrestling event of 2017 since the two women had two of the greatest women's wrestling matches last year.
Banks and Bayley had a very outstanding match in last year's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and followed it up with a 30-Minute Iron Woman Match. It was also the first woman's match in WWE history to main event a pay-per-view.
