"So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation" contestant Emma Hellenkamp may be in danger of being sent home next week.
On Monday night, the young tap dancer performed with her all-star counterpart Gabby Diaz. However, their "We Will Rock You" performance didn't receive all positive comments from the judges.
Nigel Lythgoe noted that Hellenkamp missed a few beats and it was obvious because she was dancing tap. Jason Derulo expressed his happiness over the fact that Hellenkamp always gives her performances her all, but said that some people might not relate to her genre.
"This was a very difficult piece coz there was no glitz and glamor about it and it was literally just about the tap and the intricacies of the rhythm. Which you know, it's hard. In a room this big, it's hard to capture everybody just by using those rhythms and be just kinda doing the same thing over and over and over again," Derulo said.
"I think sometimes you know, sometimes you dance a little in front of the beat and it was difficult coz you sort of lose that and I think it just fell out a little bit there," Lythgoe said.
Meanwhile, Diaz and Hellenkamp are campaigning for all of their fans to vote for them to stay in the competition for at least another week.
On her Instagram account, Hellenkamp shared one of her fan's artwork that contained information on how they can vote for her.
"Tonight was the best! So grateful to have made top 5. Please, please vote to help me stay another week. Thank you for another great edit @jakejoe," she wrote.
Diaz also posted a photo with Hellenkamp via her Instagram account and wrote, "Top 5, here she comes! Don't forget to VOTE for @emmahellenkamp."
"So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
