Numerous evidences about the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 have been out recently. After the leaked images, specifications for the Android-powered clamshell smartphone were already hinted.
According to a listing provided by GFXBench, it's display will be as large as 3.8 inches with 480 by 800 resolution. As for its processing power, it will be boasting Qualcomm's 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 425 with 2 GB of RAM. It will have an expandable memory of up to 2 GB, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.
The device will be kept awake by its 2,000 mAh battery and will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. As for its price, the smartphone is expected to be around $250, the same level as its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 will be the successor to the original Galaxy Folder launched in Korea before.
The device has already been certified by TENAA, GSMDome reported. The approval from TENAA signifies a launching for China and Korea is nearing. But its listing did not specify any details of specifications.
The report added the device will be supporting LTE category 4. It will also have the basic connectivity features such as WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi Direct and microUSB. The clamshell device is codenamed SM-G1600 which will most likely be a dual sim phone.
Another flip phone being developed by the Korean-tech giant is dubbed as Veyron, which has been reported for a 2017 release. In a report by Android Community, the Veyron will have a 1920 by 1080 pixel in a 4.2-inch screen. It will have a 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of internal memory powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processer.
It is also expected to boast camera specs such as a 12 MP rear facing camera and a 5 MP front facing camera which are similar to the current Samsung flagship phones available in the market. The Veyron will be a high-end flip phone to be included in the new line up of Samsung smart phones.
Viewers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt as details stated are still to be confirmed by Samsung. Major changes are expected to happen until official details are out.
