Lowly squad Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (0-4-0, 0 points) is scheduled to host contending team United States (2-1-1, 7 points) at their home ground of Arnos Vale Stadium in the country's capital city of Kingstown this Friday, Sep. 2 as the fourth round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup CONCACAF qualifying tournament moves to its final two matchdays.
The two squads are in the Group C competitions together with Guatemala and current group leaders Trinidad and Tobago.
With zero wins in their four group stage matches, The Vincy Heat is already eliminated in the next round of competitions. Their last match was a 0-6 demolition in the hands of current Group C leaders Trinidad and Tobago on the road at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain last March 29 to officially exclude them from joining the fifth and final round, as per the Trinidad Express.
Head coach Cornelius Huggins's squad is simple below the standards of all their Group C opponents as they were blown out in three of their four games in this fourth round of qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Team USA had been inconsistent in their qualifying campaign so far as the team had won games via lopsided fashion and had also picked up and unexpected loss in their first four fixtures in the tournament.
In their most recent qualifying match, head coach Jürgen Klinsmann's side crushed Guatemala, 4-0, at the Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio to redeem themselves from their previous 0-2 loss to the same team in the previous matchday, SB Nation reported.
Four different USA players netted a goal each to complete the team's four-goal haul, namely Clint Dempsey, Geoff Cameron, Graham Zusi, and Jozy Altidore at the 12th, 35th, 46th, and 89th minutes respectively.
The win earned the United States the solo second spot in the Group C table. A win by USMNT in this match versus Saint Vincent and a loss by Guatemala to the Soca Warriors will ensure them of a berth in the next round of competitions.
The predicted result is a 3-0 rout for the United States.
