"ARK: Survival Evolved" developers have now responded to the current complaints over the issue of the paid expansion DLC. Community manager Jat revealed that their original intent for the video game always included the creation of expansions.
Game developer Studio Wildcard explained on the official website of Steam of their decision to make their expansion DLC payable. The Early Access game's fans were not happy with the decision, since it is an unfinished game.
Jat said that the game studio is committed to developing a solid game launch with a lot of features. He revealed that everyone from the studio have always thought of ideas of how to make the game better than it was the day before.
The community manager also said that their intent is to launch a retail release that will be better than the original version. He also thanked the fans who gave feedback, which gave them ideas to make their video game better.
According to the official blog of ARK, the game studio's original vision for the game was to always include the production of Expansion ARKs. It also included the improvement of infrastructure and technical systems to transfer data easily between the live ARKs. They wanted to improve on these systems during the Early Access period due to the significant risks of not satisfying their fans when it is ready for retail launching.
The game studio explained that their decision meant that the game studio would be unveiling their first Expansion early. They also said that it would also mean that it would be easier for them to integrate further for post-launch Expansions into their ARK network.
The studio also understood that there are other fans that are not happy with this decision. They also appreciate for those who enjoy the game with the initial view of how the Expansion ARKs will work. Since they have the systems in place to support the expansions, they can ensure that it will only have a few integration issues.
Jat also revealed on the blog post the details of a new creature called the Kentrosaurus in the video game. It also described the introduction of a new backstory, new information on the procedurally generated ARK system, and many more.
