"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will see Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) taking their relationship to the next level, but not in the way that you think.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Steve Molaro slammed the rumors that the onscreen couple will decide to tie the knot in season 10. "That may be something that we're not ready to attack right away. But we will, in the near future, start poking at the living arrangements and what makes sense and how that might work," he said.
When asked if the living arrangements that will be featured in season 10 will be permanent, Molaro said that for now, they are purely experimental and may be changed depending on the response of the viewers. "Phrased in the show terms, presenting something to Sheldon that he may not want to do as science and data collection is a good way to try and get him on board," he explained.
Meanwhile, Molaro also said that there will be some big storylines for Raj (Kunal Nayyar). When the hit CBS TV series returns on Sept. 22, Raj will still be juggling between two women. "We come back and he's still dating two women. There's so much going on with the wedding and the Air Force, so it's going to take us a while to let those storylines settle down. Once they do, they'll be ready to put the focus back on other stories, including Raj and his relationship status."
In other news, the exec seemingly changed his mind regarding Bernadette's (Melissa Rauch) baby. Previously, Molaro said that Bernadette's baby will not be born sometime in season 10. This time around, the exec said that Bernadette will give birth in one of the upcoming episodes. It is unclear if this decision was borne out of the possible cancellation of the series.
"But as it stands, sometime this year, something will happen," he said in reference to Bernadette giving birth.
Prior to the arrival of her baby, Bernadette's emotions will be all over the place, and her husband Howard (Simon Helberg) will have to deal with all of that.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
