Roman Reigns is slowly getting his foot into the WWE Universal title picture but he will not be added to the Clash of Champions main event. According to the latest rumors, Reigns is going to face Chris Jericho at Raw's first brand-exclusive PPV.
The Big Dog has the opportunity to make the WWE Universal title match at Clash of Champions a Triple Threat if beats current champ, Kevin Owens. Many fans fear that the WWE is pushing Reigns again and he will get the win over KO.
However, it is not the current plan for both superstars and it is just something to spice things up heading into Clash of Champions. According to Cageside Seats, the current plan for Reigns is a match against Jericho.
One of the possible scenarios for next week's Owens vs. Reigns match is Jericho costing The Guy the win. Y2J is currently allied with the champion and it makes sense since Reigns has to wait for Rusev to return from his honeymoon.
The Guy was expected to resume his feud with the United States champion but Rusev was given the whole month off. The Bulgarian Brute is on his honeymoon with Lana and he is not scheduled to work Clash of Champions.
To keep Reigns occupied, he is inserted into the WWE Universal championship picture since he was also attacked by Triple H two weeks ago. However, it is not the right time to push him back to the main event since he is still getting booed by the crowd.
After Rusev comes back from his honeymoon, he will put over Reigns since he is the anti-American heel who will get booed. Nevertheless, it is the best for all superstars involved if the three-time WWE champion is out of the main event.
According to The Inquisitr, Reigns vs. Jericho is a good filler match before they resume their scheduled feuds. Reigns will fight Rusev while Jericho likely gets into the title picture with Owens and Seth Rollins, which were the original plans for Finn Balor's title reign.
Triple H would also become a factor since he seemingly made Owens the new face of the company. It is a crazy time in the WWE at the moment but they have been thriving since the brand split. Check out the video below for the confrontation between Owens and Reigns in this week' episode of Raw.
