"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto" will be released for PlayStation 4, PC via Steam and Xbox One in the North America and Europe on February 3 as a downloadable expansion for $19.99, Bandai Namco announced.
In Japan, the"Road to Boruto" expansion is slated to be released on February 2 and will be offered in a physical releases, a DLC expansion release and as downloadable content. The Japanese version of the expansion will be available for the PS4 only.
According to Anime Network, both the download and physical release will contain the full "Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" game, among them, all the previous three DLC releases for the main game, as well as the "Road to Boruto" expansion. The DLC expansion release is intended for gamers who already possess the original game, and only want to get the content of the new expansion. Players of all versions will be able to transfer their save files to the new expansion.
Meanwhile, the expansion will expand the game with new playable actors like Boruto and Sanada, a new storyline following the adventures of Boruto, including the Kinshiki and Sasuke fight, and players will be able to explore brand new areas in the Hidden Leaf Village. The new playable characters will be usable in both offline and online Free Battle Mode, as well.
Players who will manage to attend Tokyo Game Show 2016 from September 15-18 will be able to play a demo of Kinshiki vs. Sasuke.
Also to be included in the releases is a first-print limited edition downloadable soundtrack for both the expansion and the original game, downloadable from February 2 to March 1. The physical release of the expansion will come packaged with a reversible box cover.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe made the announcement on Monday and will see the digital download and physical release retail at a cost of 6,800 yen (about US$66), while the DLC expansion will cost 2,411 yen (about US$23).
