"Rocket League" gets the 1.22 update, which adds new features like the Rumble Mode, microtransactions and more. The latest 1.23 update has fixed several bugs and issues that the video game was plagued with before the recent releases.
According to the official website of the video game, game developer Psyonix has added several new features to it. The Rumble mode will be free and will be available in Online Playlists, Private, and Exhibition matches. It will also give players access to 11 randomized power-ups.
The Crates and Keys system will have the microtransactions system. The keys will be available individually for $1.49. Players can also purchase in bundles of five for $5, 10 for $10, or 20 for $20.
The keys are all optional and it will help fund their upcoming eSports events, and prize pools, said Psyonix. The game developer said that this new optional system will make Crates occasionally drop in Competitive matches. The players can purchase the Keys to access its contents.
These exclusive Crate items can be kept or traded with other players, which is another new feature in the latest update. These will be a variety of items like Import Battle-Cars, unique animated Decals, and other cool Garage accessories.
Players can also view the possible contents of a crate before they open it. If they do not want to see the Crates and Keys system, they can just turn it off with a prompt when the first Crate is dropped in game. They can still receive the Crates, but they will not be notified nor displayed in their inventories until they turn the system back on.
The developers have also included several features that players will expect with the 1.22 update. The Player-to-Player trading lets players trade with others on their platform.
Common and Premium DLC items cannot be traded, while Crate items and Keys can be traded seven days after its purchase. Key trading can only be done for the PlayStation 4 and Steam PC players for now.
Players can now customize their cars per team with the new Equip to Blue and Equip to Orange options. They can also choose different colors with the expanded primary color palette. This also includes additional shades for Orange Team and Green shades for the Blue Team.
Car Presets can be created by players and it can only be up to 10. They can also specify Team names for both teams in Private Matches. The Party Chat option has also been added since it was a popular community request.
New arenas have been added like the VR-themed Octagon and can be accessed in Exhibition play. Two classic arenas are also receiving new versions, which are the Urban Central and DFH Stadium.
According to another post on the official website of the video game, the 1.23 update is a follow up for the big Rumble update. It includes a hotfix to address the playability issues that have been appearing across different platforms.
The Xbox One players might still encounter some issues with tracking and unlocking distance-based Achievements. The developers are now investigating the situation and will give updates as soon it is solved.
