Grace Vanderwaal has just been named as the winner of "America's Got Talent" season 11.
The 12-year-old won the hearts of not only the four judges, but also of the entire world with her very meek personality. However, the minute she went on stage, all of her worries fly away and she sings her heart out.
During her audition, the Suffern native sang an original song called "I Don't Know My Name" which she said is about her. Vanderwaal's performance resulted in the pre-teen singer being selected by judge Howie Mandel as his golden buzzer pick.
Vanderwaal immediately advanced to the next round of competition with another original song that she wrote and dedicated to her older sister. "Beautiful Thing" also became a huge hit among the judges and the viewers because of its positive and inspiring message.
A week later, Vanderwaal performed another original song at the semifinals. "Light the Sky" once again had a very positive message and tune that resonated among everyone who watched her performance.
Finally, on Tuesday night, Vanderwaal sang "Clay," a song that talks about the importance of not being molded into what or how other people want you to be. All four songs led to Vanderwaal's big win on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, the other nine contestants who also competed for the $1 million grand prize were Viktor Kee, Brian Justin Crum, Jon Dorenbos, Laura Bretan, Tape Face, Val Salentinetti, Sofie Dossi, The Clairvoyants and Linkin' Bridge.
In other news, other highlights from Wednesday night's result show included a guest appearance from "American Idol" judge and Simon Cowell's good friend Paula Abdul. She worked with The Clairvoyants in a magic card trick.
Stevie Nicks performed the hit song "Landslide." He also said that Vanderwaal reminds him of a younger version of himself.
The Silhouettes from "America's Got Talent" season 6 performed while Linkin' Bridge sang their own heartfelt rendition of Lukas Graham's hit song "7 Years."
"America's Got Talent" season 11 aired its finale episode on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
