Avid viewers of the hit TV series "Game of Thrones" will soon have to say goodbye to the HBO show given its upcoming final two season run. Cast member Maisie Williams has recently shared her thoughts on saying goodbye to her role Arya Stark and the rumored film adaptation of the hit series.
The TV adaptation of George RR Martin's novels "A Song of Ice and Fire" will soon close its final chapter with the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Seasons 7 and 8. Ahead of the HBO show's seventh season run, Williams has shared her future plans to reporters at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Tea Party held on Sept. 17, Saturday.
With the show's impending end, the young actress shared her excitement and apprehension on what the future may bring. The British star commented on how the HBO series has served as her "safety blanket" over the years, particularly during moments when she would fail to get a role for a new project. Williams has portrayed the character Arya since "Game of Thrones" first premiered in 2011.
The actress explained that with the upcoming end of the series, she would have more time to explore other acting projects. However, the young star also shared her worries that fans may not want to see more of her after her Arya role.
"With ["Game of Thrones"] coming to an end," Elle quoted Williams as saying. "It's also scary because maybe people won't want me."
Apart from sharing her thoughts on saying goodbye to her "Game of Thrones" character, the British star also weighed in on the rumored movie spin-off of the HBO show. Williams mentioned that she would be open to join the said speculated project. Although she stated that she would only reprise her role provided that the film's storyline would be "believable and not withdrawn."
Meanwhile, Williams has made mention of the characters that she would want Arya to meet in the upcoming Season 7. In an earlier interview with Variety, she teased that she would like Arya to reunite with one her Stark siblings. The actress also indicated that it would interesting to have her character survive an encounter with either Cersei or Melisandre in the new season.
